I resided in Turin in 1970-1971. I was there to build and commission an Oil Refinery at Volpiano near Turin
I also attended payers at the Finzi-Contini Synagogue in Turin. I remember the elegant Temple, all in white
marble. What caught my attention are the seats near the entrance where non-Jews would enter the Synagogue
and witness the service in progress. I recall their words : So beautiful... I recall the long walks, going from
Ferrovia Square to Piazza San Carlo and on to Pazza Castello, this under the covered sidewalks while doing
some window watching. I shopped at Olympic for elegant suits and at Santagostino for presents. Also the
customary stop at Cafe San Carlo. As an Oil Executive, still in my 20's and single, an Opera buff let's say that
my 18 months in Turin were great. I visited so many places : Castello Cinzano, Abbadia Vezzolano, Turin's
Colinna, Parco Valentino, walks along the Po River and, of caurse the wine festival at Asti.
Your accent is one of an Italian speaking in English. I am a Canadian Jew. Ciao...
